Calling all music guru's

I got a $50 Itunes gift card and I have no idea what songs I should download. I know it would seem I have a lot of time to keep up on the latest musical craze but I havent so I need a little help. "I get by with a little help from my friends." (That's a song lyric in case you didnt know.) So give me some suggestions in the comments section please. $50 goes a long way for me so give me lots of ideas! My Ipod Nano will thank you.

I haven't been to your blog in forever, but when I saw this post, I couldn't help but contribute. So, here are my suggestions to check out (I'll give you a variety since I'm not sure what your style is):

Angels & Airwaves
Sleeping at Last
Emiliana Torrini
Amos Lee
Teddy Geiger
Five for Fighting
Hillsong United
Mat Kearney
Under the Influence of Giants
David Gray (his newest album is one of my favorites)
The Fray
Paolo Nutini
Mocean Worker
Jimmy Needham

Hopefully that gives you a place to start and you can find something that's of interest. If you need more suggestions, just let me know!

Here's my contribution:
Leeland, leeland, leeland!
(and many others on trish's list)
Corinne Bailey Rae
The new John Mayer
Imogen Heap
The Shore
KT Tunstall
Warren Barfield
Jadon Lavik
Jonatha Brooke
Jack Johnson
The Afters
Bethany Dillon

The "Grey's Anatomy" soundtrack always has good new stuff. And it's always entertaining to check out celebrity playlists. Itunes essentials is also a great way to discover new stuff.

I echo the Leeland and KT Tunstall!!

Other than that- I'm pretty clueless too....let me know what you decide on and if they're any good.

Five for Fighting's new album is great (just disregard the policeman's horrible). I think you'll really enjoy "the Riddle" and "I just love you" (which is about his little girl). And yes, you definitely need KT Tunstall, and Nathan, I'm just shocked you don't have David Gray. I mean, maybe you won't like him...but being a musician...I think you will! Give him a try. His songs "Ain't No Love" and "Now and Always" have fabulous intros. I'd love to hear what you guys end up buying and what you find that you be sure to post after you've spent your gift card :).
