Pie a pastor

We are in the process of raising money for our youth choir trip this summer. Nathan is the choir director and I just kind of help out from time to time but we use it as an excuse to hang out with the youth. This year we are taking them to a camp I use to work for during my college summers called MFUGE. This chapter is being held in Mobile, Alabama. Anyway, we are trying to minimize the cost on the students so we came up with fundraisers to hold during the next few months leading up to the trip.

This year the kids came up with one that I thought was awesome! Its called "Pie a Pastor." All we did was set up a table with a series of boxes representing each one of the pastors at our church (minus Nathan Gaddis for some reason) and pasted their pictures on the front. As people walked into the church services (1 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday) we asked them to drop their loose change or dollar bills into a pastor's box of their choosing. Whichever pastor receives the most money will get pied in the face next weekend during our Spaghetti Dinner Auction fundraiser. Isn't that great?

The grand total for this weekend (we will do it more throughout the week's events) is about $1400. We have only just begun but what a great start!

Do you guys have any ideas for great fundraisers we could use for the youth?
