Notes on Forgiveness

I have come across a lot of things that talk about forgiveness and/or being judgmental lately. Here are some of my notes from all of it...

- Its okay to judge someone's actions (not motives) and to call sin sin. It is NOT okay to sit in judgment over someone as if you have no sin in your life.

- Forgiveness in no way requires that you trust the one you forgive.

- Forgiveness does not excuse anything.

- You may have to declare your forgiveness a hundred times the first day and the second day, but the third day will be less and each day after, until one day you realize that you have forgiven completely.

Thanks Bethany! I needed that.

I don't like it when people say, "Forgive and forget." Of course forgiveness cannot require putting full trust in someone again. When God forgives, he doesn't forget, either. Right?
